It seems like you're saying that the GROM is to motorcycles as Crocs are to footwear?
The later ones will go 59-60MPH in no wind, straight and level conditions, with a full sized rider onboard. Significantly slower into a headwind. Faster when drafting.
For a modern 125cc bike, that's pathetic. Even so, I don't hate them like you do

No way, my Corolla will do at least 100...and I don't have to wear a man bun to drive it...
Sure, why not? I wouldn't ride on busy streets with it, but go explore some backroads, unmaintained roads it would be fine.
I had no idea what this was until I googled it. Yes, I am sure any number of people will be caught, or found dead on it.
I absolutely LOVE little mopeds, but only if its a level playing field. Rented one for 3 days overseas and had a blast on a near tropical island. Here in the US, wouldnt want to be flattened by a half texting latte sipping soccer mom, or dad. Sorry for profiling.
I would, anything with two wheels and a gas motor I'll ride. Not a snob but $3400 for that probably wouldn't buy one. I might buy a Vespa for just a bit more.
I think I would rather have one of the new 125cc version of the Trail 90. It would match up a lot better with how and where I might actually ride something like that.
I wouldn't buy one, but to ride on and screw around with, sure, why not?
I use to ride motorcycles. I'd be depressed if I got hurt and had to deal with a limp or something for the rest of my life getting hurt on such a bike.
Groms are awesome! One of the guys I work with has one with a turbo kit from Full Blown and it's hilarious to ride.

Ya gotta love the little bikes. There is nothing wrong with the Grom's. They have the same basic drivetrain as the Honda Monkey in the same year class. Small bikes are fun and you don't need to go fast or try to impress people you don't really care about anyway. It is a way to bring out the little kid in an adult if you rode when you were a kid. Most people won't live long enough to wear one out they run a long time and are very dependable.
