"Pre-release version of the update"? What does this mean? My computer acted up a few days after installing the update via "Windows Update".

Edit: google search on this topic, and there is still no "smoking gun" found, definitively defining the problem. It's pretty annoying. What I know for a fact is that my PC crashed, and the drive could not be detected in either the BIOS or, obviously, Windows. Oddly, after disconnecting everything, and reassembly, no change to software, the PC booted normally. Whatever is happening, it's not repeatable.

Pre release patches come out if you've check marked the Windows Insider Program. You can stop them by going to Windows Update -> Windows insider Program -> stop insider builds.

I do not belong to the insider program and still had the NVMe failure problem.
