what micron rating do gas stations for fuel pump filters?

Not to change the topic but,
There is a company that makes a funnel that filters water out of gasoline.
I bought one and it does work.
To test it, you pour water into the funnel .... it doesn't drain thru, but gasoline does.
It's made by .... who else but .... Mr Funnel

I have seen a gas station filter. Approximately 10" long by 5"dia. on the side of filter it stated 5u. a 5micron filter does well in protecting again plugged jets or injectors. This was from a TEXACO station.
Baldwin fuel dispensing filters (the industry term) have a surprising range of efficiencies. It seems clear here that they filter out the larger stuff and leave the fine filtration to the vehicle's fuel filter.
Off-topic, I watched a 1930s video a while back on how to care for your farm tractor, and letting jostled bulk fuel barrels sit idle overnight, with particles settling to the bottom, was a primary means of "filtration."

I stand corrected. Much to my surprise, those fuel dispenser numbers above aren't that different from automotive fuel injected fuel filters.

For your dining pleasure, some specs for CARBURETOR fuel filters. I expected these to be significantly lesser filtering than for fuel injected rides....but not so much.

But here's confirmation that, as expected, carburetor engines don't require the higher level of filtration that fine-mist fuel injection does, although cleaner is of course better.
