What are the major differences in the three engine cleaners, Auto-RX, Neutra, and Lube Control? Is one better for certain situations and another better maybe for another situation?

For example, would Auto-RX be better for cleaning sludge monster engines because it works slowly and would remove sludge slowly from the engine?

Would Neutra be better for occasional use in a fairly clean engine, just to make sure that the engine stays clean?

I don't know too much about Lube Control, but would it be better for extended driving (I guess you can add 1 oz. per thousand miles)? I also understand that it can reduce oxidation of oil so maybe an average conventional oil could be used for extended oil changes with Lube Control?

How many people at this web site use Auto-RX? Neutra? Lube Control?

I don't believe Lube Control is a cleaner, but instead it stablizes the oil so that it retains it's viscosity and TBN better. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Patman, I have never used but plan on useing it. I belive that LC is mostly cryslic(sp) acid. If this is the case then it is definatly a cleaner.

LC most definitly is a cleaner too.It has been stated by MolaKule that if you suspect sludge, that you should change your filter 1000 miles into your first run of LC.
The anti-oxidant aspect of LC is impressive too.
IMHO,LC ROCKS!

Auto-RX = bio based non hazardous, very effective, safe ( to you, to metal, seals etc.) Harmless to host oil. All NEW chemistry that NO one else has been able to develop. Very effective at cleaning and having a residual anti-wear effect.

Lube Control, 1940's technology, inhibited lubrious solvent, the solvents in this are ones I have railed against until I saw how unique this formulation was.
Non harmful to metal and seals if used as directed. Will depolymerize oil if used at too high a concentration. Not good to breath or exposure to skin. Inexpensive, effective anti oxidant to extend oil drains, makes Amsoil really go 25,000 to 35,000 and stay in grade ! All petroleum sourced chemistry.

I personally like to "pre clean" with Auto-Rx then moderate oxidation with LC for extended drains.

Both products are compatible to use together but are philosophically at opposite ends of the chemical spectrum.

I have not formally tested Nuetra,... yet.

Terry,
Thanks for the information. How far can you safely extend oil changes when using LC with Mobil 1 or a conventional oil like Mobil drive clean?

What is the benefit of using LC in the transmission and power steering fluid?

Thanks, Wayne

I use Auto-Rx, Bobzoil Neutra(#131), Lube Control, & Fuel Power. Yes, I have them all in my carport closet. No, I have nothing bad to say about any of them, or those who sell them. My Neon's almost 9K into a 12K run w/Bobzoil & LC, & my mothers Mercury has a full dose of Auto-Rx in it right now. IMO, *ALL* are excellent products that will do exactly what's claimed for them, sometimes even more. Compared to the price of car payments & gasoline, they're all very cost efficient, too! This is from a 50 year old guy(me!) who'd decided long ago that there *Were* differences in motor oils, *and* that almost all off the shelf products w/similar claims were snake oil. A little over a year ago, I found BITOG.com- thank goodness! Auto-Rx, Neutra, LC, & FP really work.

Right now I have Auto-Rx in my engine (cleaning phase), Soy Ultra (131C) in my gas tank (full bottle for cleaning), and Neutra as a stabilizer in the gas containers I use for my lawn equipment. I'll probably switch from Soy Ultra to just Neutra when my stock runs out.

I'm thinking about using Neutra in the oil for the last 500 miles of the ARX rinse phase. If I do that, I'll probably replace the oil filter at the time I add the Neutra.
