I have never used it, but I was searching the Internet and I came across someone who said that "Wal-Mart Super Tech Fully Synthetic Engine Oil" was equal in specs to Mobil 1".

It may be equal in "specs", but I find it hard to believe it is equal in quality to Mobil 1.

Is anyone using the "Wal-Mart Super Tech Full Synthetic"?

If so, how good is it? Anywhere near Mobil 1?

Who makes it for Wal-Mart?

Thanks in advance!

I used it in my wife's 2000 GC 3.3. (10/30). Put 6900 miles on it in 2004 over 10 months. Looked good when changed. 4900 miles this year over 14 months. Looked only medium amber in color. Changed because of time. Running M1 10/30 now because of the 6 for 3 P-B cupons. Still have 10 qt's of st syn left yet. will probably run it in my sons' car. Previous to this, I ran GTX 10/30 with 3K oci. The GTX always came out gray/black looking.

Well I have been using it in my truck for a little while now. I asked on the board earlier and I was told don't worry about it. It is a good oil. Oh, i have an 03 Dodge Durango with the 4.7 motor. I don't drive it real hard so it should be OK. I pay $12.00 for it at Walmart. I was cutting back on expenses and thought it was a decent enough oil. I am happy with it so far.

Supertech oils meet the appropriate certifications and are acceptable oils for 95% of the engines on the road. My Granddaughter has run ST dino for 30,000 miles in an engine with 150,000 miles on it. No consumption, no problems.

I have run ST synthetic in all of my yard machines and the generator for years, again, no problems.

Fear not, it is a good oil and a good deal.

Any oil that delivers ACEA A3 has a decent additive package regardless what the armchair quarterback naysayers claim. The UOAs also support SuperTech full synth's performance in actual use.

do not put that crap in your car! like all cheap no name oils, it has a weak add pack that will not protect your engine... just look what it did to mine!.... 99 Maxima UOA

Warren does make some ST oils....but Mobil also makes some of the ST. I believe that if the bottom of the bottle has WPP on it, its Warren. Check out this site for who makes Walmart's auto products, just type in Super Tech in the search box on this site http://msds.walmartstores.com/

I used Semi Synthetic Supertech 10/30 for about 20,000 miles. it did my engine good. I use Valvoline because of the Rebates hehe.

maybe the smiley face was a bit too subtle? I was trying to be sarcastic.

hey, I'm originally from Dutch wannabe land - actually GR, but the same west michigan wooden shoe & tulip belt. we're just now getting Meijers in the chicago area. I noticed they dropped the blonde Dutch boy mascott.

I read here they (Warren, ST) stopped making 5w30 full syn. I believe it, not seeing it anymore.

Exxonmobil's connection is they manufacture ONLY supertech economy dino sold mostly on the eastern side of the USA. Jugs kind of resemble mobils too:

I can't get it here any more either. Its been at least two years since I have seen it at all. I have gobs of stock of ST full syn 10w30. I run that year round down here in Georgia. I have not how ever run the ST brand yet. I will be in FEB thats when I am due for my oil change. Right now I am using Coastal Full SYN 10w30. I have the data sheet on the Coastal oils and the 10w30 is a pretty thick oil. My Ford Ranger 2000 3.0L Flex Fuel loves it.

In Canada Safety Kleen is the supplier of most of WalMarts House Brand lubricants sold under the SuperTech label. I've spoken to their tech guy at Safety Kleen here in Ontario a number of times and yes their Syn' Oils are Group III.

Just in case anyone wants to know, I e-mailed Warren Oil and a representative answered back and told me that they DO NOT make engine oils for Wal-Mart, sold under the "Super Tech" name.

I told them I lived in Maryland, so maybe they don't make it for Wal-Marts in my area.
