Well, Just put this in my mark about 2 hours ago. Idles nice and smooth as did the RP. Any ideas on how long I should run it without a UOA? It has the 4.6 DOHC motor with 158K miles and has seen synthetic most of its life.

Depending on driving, I would say easily 7500 or so with a decent amount of highway, 5000 with more city. I'm being conservative here as you said without UOA.

There is a uoa from glennc on val maxlife syn blend i believe 7500 miles and looks good so i would assume the full syn maxlife would be able to do that no problems depending on the driving conditions and habits.

I was under the impression that Valv. MaxLife wasn't much thicker than regular oil, at least as far as the blend goes. Although HM oils do tend to be thicker...

Well, you'll have to check the product data sheets, but the SM Maxlife was thicker as I recall. And I think also the Syn. But robustness could also be achieved in a thicker base oil, but same overall 100C viscosity, resulting in less VII.
