Some aircraft are just a real Mad Dog in those situations.

Has this happened 11 times, or does it only seem like it?

The investigators and NTSB will have some interesting data to reconstruct right before touchdown. Blown rear tires and severely mangled nose gear... Wow, so pilot hit the runway hard and also slamming the front hopping it several times.

As far as "harder" that normal landings, I think I saw a you tube video either captain joe or mentour pilot that they will land with a little more authority when the runway is wet braking the water skin as to minimize hydroplaning.

It was gusty that day, but no convective activity that would've generated microbursts (dangerous wind shear).

While gusts present a challenge, jury is still out on this one.
