I have come across a few things I just cannot comprehend. And I am pretty smart, have a degree in Math, but somethings are just beyond me. Other people probably have some others.

1) 64 bit addressing allows addressability to 16 exabytes. That is just one huge number. Bill Gates does not even have that much money. There are 7 billion people on this planet, but no comparison to 16 exabytes. In the history of mankind, all the words spoken by all the people who ever lived (wives included) is only 5 exabytes.

2) The weight is a piece of a pulsar the size of a thimble is 500 million tons. There is just nothing to compare that to. What do we consider heavy, lead, so maybe a thimble of lead is a few ounces?

Why do you drive on a parkway and park in a driveway?

future proofing for when all those XP users finally upgrade..

IIRC most 64-bit processors do not implement a 64-bit physical address space, because it is unnecessary and impractical.

Still a whopping amount of memory.

Because she is and if you know what's good for you, you do too!

Why do hot dog buns come in packages of 6 and hot dogs come in packages of 8?

(Hint: As having grown up i have found this to not be the case.)

A typical address space is virtual and could easily be many times the size of the physical memory as its paged, and in many cases its not backed by physical until its touched.

I can not comprehend why so many people have this foolish need to have a smart phone with them (or whatever the crud they call them) 24 hours a day....and must CONSTANTLY chat...talk....text message.....play games...listen to music....or otherwise have their silly heads down staring at the darn thing. What's the deal with everybody? Pull your head up and look out into the REAL WORLD in front of you for cryin out loud. Listen to the sounds of nature, say hello to an actual live human next to you, and stop being such a wimp that you need to stay in contact with your 'friends' on the phone even when going to the grocery store.
Enough already!!
