has anyone else notice how unprofessional, and how many mistakes they have made recently?

I think they sold out to NBC, so that may be some of the problem

they have also added many off topic things such as buisnuess, and so on....

Just like MTV, CMT, VH-1, it would be great if these channels went back to their core service rather than things like "Tila Tequila" & "When weather changed history".

When I tune into TWC, I want to see wether that's current, not some hour-long special on nothing. Save those for the Discovery or History channels.

But HEY! You get to wake up with Al!(Sounds kinda strange to me. I have no interest in waking up with Al. He's not that darned cute.)

Besides; I'm a happily married man. And I taught my wife how to shoot.

One thing that hasn't changed. Frequently, there's a whole mess of weather over my adopted state, Arkansas. Do they acknowledge us? Heck no! It's always "...from the panhandle of Texas on up through Missouri all the way to Chicago..." or some such drivel. I feel dissed. And pi**ed. Whatsamatta, we got cooties or somethin'? Mumble, mumble mumble......

How about when they talk about those small towns in your area when there is a tornado warning. Most of the time thay mispronounce the names of the towns and they think they are the only ones with capable weather technology.

Soft top jeep owners.

My wife lives by TWC in the summer. We have a full time local weather channel. You do too, I imagine. It's the one that cuts in for your local weather on TWC. Only one of our televisions can tune that high.

I'll take the Weather Channel over a lot of the [censored] that is currently on cable TV.

Local weather broadcasts are worthless. Those have gotten way too "cute and gimmicky" in an attempt to draw advertisers. At some point in the broadcast, they throw in a couple of minutes of weather.

Tuning back to the Weather Channel: am I the only one to notice that it seems a prerequisite for female weathercasters to be blonde and to agree to become pregnant within the first year of joining TWC?

There's statistical evidence that supports that theory. It's a crippling affliction that befalls most weather babes.

Why they got AL baffles me. When he comes on the air anywhere I click it.

AL reminds me of Drew Carey by making stupid jokes.

Remember when AL got a operation to lose weight by having his stomach stapled..Looks like that was a waste as he is starting to look like the fat slob he once looked like.

I find it useful for the current temperature and the outline of the forecast, to give me some idea of the nicer (or, sometimes, worse) temperatures in other places, and for the time readout. It used to be even better, it displayed the seconds, but now they have to have all sorts of data cluttering up the screen.

Agreed, they never seem to give details about Arkansas, and there are other states that seem to be off their radar. The coasts and the Gulf South get the main attention. Do they even have the international temp readouts any more?

The Weather channel has gotten much worse this year. They had a winning formula but could not resist screwing it up. I don't watch it near as much as I used to.

Sounds like the software industry

"It's working the way it's supposed to, must be time for a major revision."

Like many things out there, some people can't leave well enough alone. They feel that they have to be constantly improving. (Change for the sake of change, because the VPs have to justify their salary.) I'm sure this topic has been covered in "Dilbert".
