Spraying foam pad with water before chemicals

I notice that you should apply by spraying a light mist of water to the foam pad before applying and removing chemicals.Why?Thanks Joe

It's called priming the pad and it helps with spreading the product evenly until the pad gets saturated with product. I do it all the time when applying Zaino as it helps ensure super thin coats. I also do it when machine polishing to help me polish evenly on a panel.

I "prime" my pads with a quick detailer. It seems to work well and adds a bit of lubrication to a dry pad.
