From different thread with changing oil viscosities in my daughters '08, 247k mile CRV with some slightly rough idle at times and slight lack of power from butt dyno. @cptbarkey mentioned trace the problem so here is the plugs and coil packs. I'm looking for thoughts from those that change plugs often and have seen many things. Vehicle runs well, doesn't burn any oil that I can document and have never needed to add. It's currently on first run of VRP 5W-20. Air filter just got changed today, wasn't very dirty anyway. MAF and TB cleaned. I think the slight rough idle is more AC kicking in and a slight exhaust noise. Trying to get that also to shop.

She has mentioned and I noticed more crank time on first start of day, like 8-10 cranks instead of usual 2-3 rest of the day. I suspect possible fuel pump/check valve losing pressure. Still need to get that checked.

Plugs are NGK Ruthenium. They have been in vehicle for 5 years and 40k. It has seen multiple cans of Gumout Multi system and BG44k over those years/miles. Plugs 1 and 3 came out harder than 2-4 maybe from carbon etc. I cleaned threads and all went back in nice and easy with just 2 fingers spinning the socket/extension and then retorqued to 16 ft-lbs. Fuel is mostly Exxon/Mobil with some BP and Shell and mostly 87 octane.

Thought on if they should be replaced? Overall running? @Trav if I thought of replacing injectors for ones that don't have 247k any links you would share. The ebay ones kind of scare me at 4 for $50 even if say genuine Honda but $50-80 each seems a bit out whack also.

Look at your fuel trims!
Slight challenge as I don't have that much access or time with it since she takes it to school. I plan to take it to work tonight so I can pass by shop on way home to check A/C and exhaust. I'll plug in VeePeak and screen shot it.

What would I look for on them? What would I do about them? Cat is about 1 year old, aftermarket Walker CARB compliant since OEM got stolen.

Have you adjusted the valves? This is typically the #1 or #2 cause of rough idle on Honda vehicles. K24 valve adjustment can be completed in about an hr.

Valves adjusted at Honda dealer shortly after we got it. December 2020 at 210k miles. Currently at 247k. Time, energy, confidence in knowledge I left that task to them.

Sitting at traffic lights etc it holds a pretty consistent rpm.

@cptbarkey - no trouble codes for misfires but I haven't done live stream or log stuff. I'll need to check how to that.

Only CEL's I have had on this was P0420 after the first replacement cat started to show issues. I don't count the CEL for O2 when they cut the wire with OEM cat. At least they left the connector,

I had to change the upstream sensor from Bank 1, sensor 1 as it was 0 and didn't move. As Lamda wideband it sits at 1.0, goes to 2.0 when I let off the gas. Randomly does .9 but pretty consistent at 1.0. Unless I need to change that? That was SAE PID.

Cruise control on flat area.

Cruise control on up VERY slight hill on overpass.

The only thing I have to compare to for the numbers is my ‘17 Accord. That has the 2.4L earth dreams with GDI vs the MPI on CRV. Both have same AF ratio with cruise on while on highway. The LT and ST trims are higher on the CRV but I don’t know if that is “much” higher or just a little higher or just different for multiple reasons like a small vacuum leak adding more air so needs more fuel to maintain the correct ratio? I wouldn’t be shocked on some cracked vacuum lines. I did replace some and some small coolant lines when we first got it. I had to do a starter in it so had many things easy access.

It still runs very well in my opinion and doesn’t burn oil like my Accord. I’m probably imagining issues except when my daughter asks about the same things I observe.

This is numbers from Accord.
