I recently wished for longer jaws for my AP 78830 drum puller -- I think I was working on a 14b maybe.
I stumbled upon Proto's pullers which I previously had not even known existed. I wasn't sure if the rail profile was the same (it's not) but decided to order their 4016 jaw set as an experiment.
I actually ordered Urrea jaws from Zoro. I think the Proto and Urrea stuff is identical here -- or at least they look identical online and part numbers are identical. Zoro excludes Proto from discount codes but not Urrea so I was able to use a 10% code.
The rail profile on the Urrea is slightly smaller than AP so I had to open them up just a little.
The gain is not huge but could be significant depending upon application.
QC on the Urrea stuff is atrocious. I considered returning the jaws on principle but I don't think this bow will affect actual use or OAL significantly.
