Picked up a 1/4" stampped aluminum "skid" plate for my '18. Mostly just for medium duty protection of the plastic transmission pan from road debris and seasonal roads... Some people have mentioned minor NVH issues with it, though, so I'm considering spraying it with a coating to dampen and ringing/NVH/whatever. Looking at either your standard rubberized undercoat, cheap spray on bed liner or flex seal... No idea if any would be more effective than the others although since have a spare can of flex seal somewhere I'm leaning that way.

Is it a given it's going to make noise? If some do and some don't it may be a solution looking for a problem. I'd bolt it on first if it's not a hassle and see if it makes noise. Hard to not get out the Flex Seal when you have it already. 😉

Not saying it cannot not occur to some degree, however I'd like to meet the people who claim to notice NVH from an aluminum skid plate being added to a full-sized pickup truck.
