Navara has a big(ish) clutch style LSD.

Calls for 75W-140, and I've been running Mobil SHC ID. Have run out of Mobil, and have to stock up on "something".

$Oz has improved the prices of RL gear oils markedly compared to it's competitiors.

Change time, and I was wondering about shockproof light, to reduce the fluid friction, in a vehicle that's generally running with a family load, and not the 1 tonne on board, towing 3 tonnes that it's rated for.

Yay's/Nays ?

No shockproof gear oil is for mainly racing. The fact it calls for 75-140 weight says it's a heavy duty application or expect to see very high loads temperature the LT weight RL shockproof is very good in racing applications it has solid particles of calcium i believe to absorb shock. Now seeing as this is a highway application? i would advise using a 75-140 weight I can see problems with light weight application oil which is basically meant to be drained once a year or less not holding up to continuous driving in a street application stick to 75w140 imo full synthetic

also shockproof is not good with clutch style lsd.

just get regular RL 75w140
