Rearview plug for vehicle camera will not seat properly...

I've confirmed the wiring to the reverse lights is fine. The problem is that the supplied rearview plug connector will not seemingly stay far enough down in the jack to work. The rear camera only comes on when you push the plug into the jack and hold it. Any suggestions?

Would you have an extension type cable available? Perhaps it might fit properly. My best guess is the female end has become enlarged somehow. Is the jack stereo or mono? I don't imagine I am any help. Best of luck
