I've got this set, and they do take a bit less time than jack and jackstands (repeated four times at each corner).

But the real advantage is the stability. The car is lifted at once, evenly, and securely.

I agree with you on the stability and the ease of lifting the car evenly. This is especially helpful on some chassis that like to "shift" when lowering the car onto jack stands.

However, paying $1000-$1500 for only those benefits is a bit much.
