Here the latest oil analysis on my Charger 3.6L Pentastar. Really love the powertrain in this vehicle. 3.6L V6/8 spd ZF. Been running great for over a year no issues. Including a spreadsheet chart that I have been keeping to track wear. looks pretty good so far.

Looks like your engine is breaking in very very nicely. Good to see as I own two 2012 Chargers

. I did a UOA on mine at 20k or so and, besides Cu, it was flawless. I Use Edge FST, but have noticed this new formula has my engine running hotter than the previous version. My other Charger uses QSUD or PP almost exclusively and runs better IMO. I wonder if this engine likes lighter 30grade?
Is this Quantum Blue on the thick side? Why do you choose to use it over other more "mainstream" oils?

I've got an 06 hemi charger. I went from using 5w-20 this past summer. Oil temps were from 210f-220f.
I used 0w-40 this fall and oil temps dropped to 200f steady. So it could very well be a thicker oil makes these engines run cooler even though thinner oil dissipates heat faster.
Quantum blue has a following among a forum I frequent. I find it bizarre that they grade their oils irregularly like 7.5w-30 and such.
Their oils have no high viscosity index examples and today's off the shelf oils are higher in that regard however they are like redline in how extremely stout they are.
I'm happy to see a used oil analysis of this brand. For the cost its comforting knowing they can do 10000 miles anyways.

OP. Thanks for posting. I was curious about this brand. I think they will even custom brew an oil for a customer which I think is cool.

There is no such thing as a 7.5W as those are cold weather ratings based on 2 tests. So it's a 10w-30 if it passes the 10W tests.

I am well aware of that which is why I said their grading system was bizarre.

I have had issue with how these oils are "rated". I had a long discussion on another forum with the owner about this. I went through his rationale and the math used to come up with it based on viscosity measurements relative to the 5W standard. The rationale is that it is meant to reflect differences based on accurate measurements of the oil. It is part math, part marketing, and part chemist's personality. He wants to demonstrate how consistent and accurate the oils are spec'd. I'm OK with that.

I started testing this mainly because when I bought my car, there was a heated discussion going on a forum. I decided I would do the test as I hadn't heard of any detrimental effect from use and I was genuinely curious.

I get great mileage with this vehicle. I always beat the sticker and I've gotten 37 mpg (28 miles, 400ft decrease in altitude net, ranging from 10 -700f t total). 32-33 mpg on the way back. Trips between San Diego and LA range from 34-36 mpg. I'm not saying that is because of the oil, but mainly the technology of the powertrain

I do watch oil temp when driving and it is rarely over 198 degrees. In fact I can't remember it being over that ever, so it does run cool. I know others report 200+.
Pressure runs 38-43 unless I am fooling around or it is on a cold morning when the funky dual sump applies 70+ until the oil reaches about 140 degrees and then switches.

Here is the link to our discussion about viscosities.

Man, I wish I had two! You're my hero!

Starting at the 2013 model year, the recommended oil was changed from 5W-30 to 5W-20. I don't know why but it looks like the factory fill was probably 5W-20. I may decide to change to that, or just keep working on extended interval and follow the wear.

Looks good, everything seems to be trending down nicely. Thanx for sharing!

I agree, love the car. Excellent powertrain.

BND has some interesting stuff and that link was a good read. Sounds sort of like CATERHAM with a lab!

Only thing that would be better than two would be a Charger & SRT Challenger but yes kinda envious of chubbs!
