Truck and bus power steering uses whatever motor oil is used for the engine, usually 15w40.

The edge cases are Honda/Acura and Euro cars calling for Pentosin CHF or Mercedes ZH-M fluid. PSF seems to be 30W base stock and a good dose of ZDDP or an organosulfur compound in it.

i did read about hondas leaking really bad when generic PSF/ATF was used. seems like an oversight

Sort of. I searched the F-150 forums and it was a common problem when not using Ford Type F.

Hondas aren't great even when you use the genuine stuff, ime

There is special generic "for Honda" PSF that's probably fine
