Purolator filters bad?

Yea that definitely looks similar to the new design Purolator's. Interestingly, i found this on the site (see below) about the Purolator failures and it reads that the issue was only with the PureOne, Classic and older Bosch design filter which has been superseded. The new Purolator CLASSIC, ONE and BOSS filter has been completely re-designed and a quick search online hasn't brought up anything regarding failure's with these models.

I just think Purolator are getting a bad wrap from their old design filters. They have obviously addressed the problem and brought out a new range which many seem to think are excellent filters.

^^^ That Excel spreadsheet was created by Stu_Rock and he only kept up for around 6~9 months. Nobody kept it up after that, so there were many other torn filters reported that never made it on the spreadsheet.

And that spreadsheet will not contain any of the "new line" of Purolator filters because Stu_Rock stopped keeping it up long before Purolator even came out with the new line.

Well, not many people here seem to use them anymore, and cut & post them. So hard to say if the issue is truely fixed without a decent number of used ones to inspect. Even when the tearing reports were coming in quite frequently, not all cut open filters showed torn media. The ones that had horribly wide pleat spacing at the seam were the ones that usually tore.

You can go back to the time when Stu_Rock created that spreadsheet and find all the threads from where he collected the data. It all started early in 2014.

If you've seen "some talk" on here then you've also seen the pictures of torn media, right? That doesn't seem very quality to me.

It's called "GETTING YOUR 5 MINUTES OF FAME" drama.
