rock auto has this filter listed for my Toyota Sequoia @ $1.48. Anyone know who makes it ? Any good ?

Can't find out. Did see Mann & Hummel (Germany) who along with Bosch I think own Purolator, have a ProTec Division, but it doesn't state on their site that that division manufacturers any filters (their other division does).
Buy a couple and report back to us. I'm sure they are of similar quality to those jobber filters that most oil change shops will give you.

Ed White cut apart a bunch of filters for his study, including a ProTec from RockAuto. The construction clearly indicated Wix origin, but compared to a Wix branded filter, it had a thinner shell and less media that was also thinner and easily torn.

I just bought pro-tec 130 for a 13 hp tractor. Looks similar to the filter Ed White had but this one is made in Mexico. Couldn't pass up a $1.52 oil filter.
I have bought and used these. Great filters that are even cheaper then the super-tech filters.
