What does "so ate up ford" mean?

And the reason they went to MERCON V is because it is a better fluid than the old MERCON in every aspect.

2004 Honda S2000
~51000 miles
Out: 5.5 quarts Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 10W-30, Wix 51334XP filter, Old crush washer.
Ran for only 2,000 miles, 1,500 shy of my target of 52500 miles, but nearly 6 months have passed since my last change, which is the limit per my maintenance schedule for severe conditions (3,750mi or 6 months).

In: 5.5 quarts Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40, Wix 51334XP filter, New crush washer.

Changed viscosities to anticipate the already-cold weather in NC, I also plan to go to Snowshoe or NJ/NY in January. Viscosity is recommended by Honda when operating below 0°F, but for peace of mind I need the 5W-40's superior cold flow to protect my baby sooner during cold starts.

I'm a stickler for maintenance 🤠but I will extend to the next interval of 56250 miles to get back on track.

Sorry for the previous pictures, camera went bad. The new one takes pretty good photos. 563,000 miles.

That's the nicest looking 560k mile engine bay I've ever seen.

Had a 2016 WRX for a few years. Loved how easy the oil changes were with the top mount filter. Pull up on the Rhino Ramps, drain, change filter and done!

Mine is even easier than that. I live on a private drive. Ditchline above my mailbox can be straddled by the car and the ditch is lined with concrete. No ramps required. The Subaru design makes you wonder why anyone (unless they have some physical limitation) would not DIY the oil change on one.

2018 Ford Taurus 8,500 miles

Out super tech 5W30 + 1 quart Castrol magnatec 5W30 with premium guard PG 2500 oil filter

In Shell Rotella gas truck 0w20 with champion oil filter cos 10575

Oil was change sooner than later due to timing cover seal replacement I figured the extra silicone might make the oil abrasive so I went ahead and changed
