Not Overkill, but an "incident" is a defined level of mishap.

I think the Amber Alert system needs to be reconsidered.

Using radiological threat levels for lost children, then when there is an a radiological event it is an error.

How can you make an error like that? Some public sector spazzed out because they had five rain warning notifications on their phone like everyone else?

Important update: the alert regarding #Pickering Nuclear was sent in error. There is no danger to the public or environment.

Sorry, just seeing this now.

Yes, the operator (OPG), nor anybody at the plant, was aware of the alert until they saw it. Apparently the province was conducting some testing on their emergency alert system and sent this message out by mistake. Very much in-line with the false missile alert in Hawaii, as somebody else noted.
