Being that this is a national holiday to remember those who have given their life serving the USA I thought that I would post a little information about two other flags that are significant to this day besides Old Glory.
One is the Service Flag, you see them around but most people don't know its significance.

They have a red border, white center, and at least 1 blue or gold star in the center. It is displayed in the window of a residence or business to show that a family member or employee is currently deployed. Each blue star represents a family member who is deployed. Each gold star represents a family member who was killed during deployment.
The second is the POW/MIA flag. Vets know its significance but once again most people don't realize why it is significant.

These links explain it better then I can summarize.
Every CONUS chow hall I've been in has a POW/MIA table which is set every day
