While perusing the oil isle at my local E-M I found several bargain bins loaded with some irresistible oil offerings. I found (and purchased) 10 quarts each of QS Q Torque 10-30 full synthetic @$1.50/quart and DELO 400 15-40 @$1.25/quart.
I passed over 10 quarts of Mobil 1 0-20 @$2/qt. because I have no vehicle which uses that weight oil.

I have never used either QS or Chevron oil before. Here's my question; Did I get a good deal or did I just buy a lifetime's worth of oil for my riding lawnmower?

BTW the dog food at Evil-Mart is cheap too.

So does this mean that QS Q Torque is going away? I have no doubt that Q Torque is a pretty decent oil, but Sopus is horrible at marketing the QS products.

BTW good bargain hunting.

Seems like a good deal. That's Ok, I shop W-Mart also...

This otta be a fun thread now.

I go to Chinamart to get my 5 quart bottle of Maxlife every 3 months; otherwise, you wouldn't catch me dead in that place.

It would be nice if they had a special door that goes straight to the oil isle so I wouldn't have to walk passed all the strange alien creatures.

Passport,
Yes, very good prices, well done! I was just at my local Wal-Mart and there was nothing spectacular going on in the oil section. I would have grabbed all of the oil that I could at those prices, 5W20 or otherwise. Go back and see if you can get the remaining quarts if there still there.

Man! Oil has never been on sale at our Chinamart!

You guys are lucky...The grocery store Meijer's usually has some synthetic 20W-50 on clearance, but that's about it here...

Does your wal-mart recycle brake fluid and transmission fluid? I was going to bring used oil and a used oil filter to mine since they stated that they recycle those, but i'm not sure about the other fluids.

I don't know - I know we recycle used engine oil very well, and IF a container of brake/transmission/PS fluid is leaking on the shelf badly, it get dumped into the oil drain containers....to be truthful, I'd put those fluids in an old oil container, and bring them to a Wal-Mart, and pay the $1.75 to have them recycled....no-ones gonna know...it get re-refined out of the oil, anyway!

I walk in at the seasonal entrance, never the main one.

For some reason my local Wal-Mart just made a Clearance Isle, but they only have the oils marked down 50 cents a quart

. I'm headin there right now and see if they still have those 14 qts. of Castrol Mercon V, then find me a manger to see if he really wants to mark them as clearance for me. And check on those 5 qts of Syntec 5w30, my mom and dad could use a good oil change in the Impalla SS. They had alot of Type F fluid and a bunch of 10w40, 20w50 oil.

Same here in Missouri. clearance isle is just overpriced junk. No oil or auto products

Perhaps I should buy up all the discounted oil I find at my local E-Mart and offer it for sale here (or Evil-Bay). Last week I purchased about 8 quarts of 0-40 Mobil 1 for qt. My E-Mart has to be the hidden treasure for this precious commodity.

I feel like a pirate collecting this booty knowing that many of the BITOG subscribers don't get a fair chance.

Why do these stores dicriminate like this? BTW, the bargain oil chest was loaded with red, black and yellow bottles I never looked at. Tomorrow I'll return and plunder what's left of that treasure.

BTW, this IS Blackbeard's territory.

I've never seen my wallworld have anywhere near those kind of bargains. They are cheaper than the parts store but that is about all. Would love to see them run some sales in the oil department.

WM in Indy has been closing out M1 0-20 and PP 5-20 at bargain prices. It appears to be "stranded" there so I'm watching weekly for further reductions.
My experience is if you do your food shopping at a WM in an "upscale" suburb on weekday nights after 7pm you will encounter a lot of cute soccer moms which will enhance your shopping. Avoid weekends at all costs.
