I have a Dodge Neon SRT-4 which has a 2.4L Turbo engine. I drive spirited often and would like to know what the best oil would be to use for daily driving and the occasional HPDE track days. I live in washington state where summer temps go upto 100-105f and winter temps around low teens. he turbo is water and oil cooled. The recommended fill is 5 quarts of M1 5/30. I have been using Amsoil Series 2000 0w30 since around 4k miles on the car and currently have ~34k miles. I also use Eao34 filters and change both the oil and filter at 5k-6k miles.

Thanks for any info you can provide

forgot to add, engine coolant temps range from 195-220 degrees and seeing as high as 230 degrees on the road course. I also use chevron 92octane only, if that matters. K&N cone filter cleaned once a month or so.

If it aint broke don't fix it. You may be able to longer OCI's. Pablo would give you better advise with Amsoil..

If you stick with Amsoil...you will be one of those guys who can say, "Hey I've used it since the car was new, so I know what I am talking about!"...Also would be interesting to see UOA from an Engine that has has Amsoil since new...And to talk to Pablo...I hear he gives Wash Outs from Washington a break...

Amsoil is the best oil I have ever used. I ran the 0w30 in my civic si for over 35,000 miles OCI and the UOA said I could still run it longer but I needed to change the air filter because of the amount of silcon in the oil (---- K&N). I also use the 0w30 (tso) in my turbo charged WRX, only for 15,000 because of the severe service recommendations. I would not use anything else. M1 5w30 in the subaru community has mixed reviews, we are seeing a lot of bearing failures, not quite sure if the oil is thinning or just a design flaw? We are questioning the oil over the design flaw.. Just my .02

So you are on the eastern side (as opposed to the eastside)?

Yes I give breaks to local who pick-up at my house. TSO is fine or ASL 5w30 if you want to save a few bucks. It's possible you could give 10w30 a try, ATM first.
