It's a different world today where the most most watched TV show for multiple seasons doesn't even hit the radar of a huge percent of the population. There are so many entertainment options these days that TV is no longer the kind of cultural glue it used to be. It used to be that everyone had seen The Rifleman, The Carole Burnett Show, and knew who Walter Cronkite was.
