Don't get me started on Brady. There are a few QB's who would be as successful in that scheme. Is he a great QB? Absolutely, but he has benefited more than anyone from the system around him.
Matt Cassel stepped in for Brady the year he had his knee blown out. Missed playoffs that year. Perhaps you're thinking about Joe Montana, who benefitted from Bill Walsh and his West Coast offense. Followed by Steve Young who also was successful thanks to Bill Walsh.

Yeah...and went from 16-0 to 11-5!
So what about going from 16-0 to 11-5. That means nothing because they went 10-5 the year after and 10-6 two years prior to the 16-0 season.
Do you think Brady would've been as successful at the Browns, Jets, Miami or how about Tennessee? IMO the answer is an emphatic NFW. IMO a QB like Payton Manning, Matt Ryan, Alex Smith, or Phillip Rivers could have been just as successful at New England. The biggest thing about the Patriots is that they keep their QB's upright. Brady can't get out of the way of a garbage truck so protection has been paramount and so has being able to get the ball out quick. The Pats use short receivers who can get a little separation, run a lot of crossing routes, and/or bender routes at 10-20 yds. A QB with confidence in his O-line is almost unbeatable.
