1. It's for a 1997 Renault Laguna 1.8 RT, 95hp, Gasoline, 5,6 quarts sump. The car has 105.000 miles, and I bought it with 94.000.
2. My manual says the oil must meet API SH or Acea A3
3. Temperature in my area varies from 14 (-10 ºC) to 110 (43 ºC) degrees.
4. I drive easy. Most of my mileage is made on long trips at steady rpm but I have the occasional very short city drive 2 or 3 times a week.
5. The car burns oil. It is currently burning around 3 quarts per 6000 miles, but the change previous to this one was 1 quart worse. I'm expecting the oil burn to decrease to 2,5 quarts or so in this next change, otherwise I'll seriously consider going up to a 15w40. I'm hoping that my regular OCI's with good quality oil will help the car recover of 4 years of little use (less than 10.000 miles) and decrease oil burn.
6. I change my oil every 6.000 miles (manual recommends 9.000)
7. I live in Portugal and it is very difficult to obtain fully synthetic 10w40 oil or 10w40 high mileage oil here.
Here are the options for my next OCI. Every one of these is a 10w40 synthetic blend. Some have data sheets with more data than others. I'd be very grateful if you could help me choose what you'd recommend me to try in the next OCI. If possible scale more than one in case of a lack of stock.
