Well I thought I'd just throw this out here.
When comparing two or more filters I think you could get an idea of the amount of relative air flow restriction of the filter by blowing a puff of air into one side of the filter and feeling it by the palm of your hand on the 'engine' side of the filter.
I had chance to do this when I was replacing the oem(Filtech, green color) air filter for the MDX. I put in a new NAPA GOLD. With the oem filter the air hitting my 'test' hand was much less than that with the napa gold. Additionally I could feel the air bouncing back on my face with the oem filter but not with the napa gold. So I conclude that the napa gold is a better flowing filter than the oem.
