I saw my first jugs of Mobil 1 SP in Wal-Mart today and bought two of them they were 24.37 each.

"Unsurpassed turbocharger protection" and "Unsurpassed Wear Protection". 😱

They could improve the shear stability. Some independent tests and UOA's show how fast M1 5w30 (mostly the regular M1) drop viscosity. Even the AFE 0w30. Little too reliant on VII's. High quality VII's, but not the most stable.

I don't really think of a GF-5/GF-6 5W-30 as a 30 Grade. I just think of it as 5W-20 with a big dose of VII added.

I guess that's why the whole 5W-20 vs 5W-30 conversation leaves me a little underwhelmed.

I can't wait to pick up some SP rated M1 EP 0w20 when I can find it in my area, so long as it is available with a rebate cause I be cheap.
Order 2 jugs from Walmart.com with free delivery? I’m sure it’s all new stock now. The rebate is almost over

I have read that on every brand of oil literature for pretty much forever.

I've seen the "Unsurpassed wear protection" on all major brand bottles and that is because they all do extremely well on the SEQ IVA wear test. Turbo performance varies much more.

Yeah, they had this at my Walmart this past weekend for that price and I scooped it up and put it in the Tundra.
