Alright, maybe I'll go out to the garage and take some sort of picture....after the weekend. I'm skiing with family.

I may have to organize it into one big oil shrine! So I might as well clean up my garage.

It would be a 20ish weight, i'd name it %$#tty juice, and I couldn't give the stuff away, because no one would use motor oil and coolant mixed.

I see nothing but petro-goodness on that list. 48 qts of GC is a foundation for the future, built on chemistry, love and the silky feel of 0w30 between reciprocating engine parts.

I like that! Petro-goodness!

GC is indeed good stuff! Wish I had 100 quarts +

If Pennzoil Platinum keeps running smokin deals like this last $0.99 / quart after rebate, I bet I'll have 100 quarts or more of PP 5w30 and 5W-20.

how many years will that last?

aren't you worried it will be expired/outdated by then?

There are a lot of cars in the family and most of them get driven 15K to 20K every year, so this stash will get used up before expiration.

New oils could come out that are better than what I've stockpiled, but the stockpiled oils are already better than specified by the vehicle manufacturers.

There is one school of thought that the newest SM /GF4 oils may be better oils.

There is also some concern that changes to the additive package and the amount of additives may be a step backward...at least for older cars. So a stash might be a good bet.

I think I got lucky with my Mobil 1 stash, since they seem to have switched to Group III AND raised the prices. I probably had only Group IV/ V formulations at a lower cost.

Castrol GC 0w30 was a lucky break, I had a bunch or the green GC at under $5.00/ qt.

Pennzoil Platinum was a no brainer at $0.99/ qt.

Most items I can't get at Wally World.

Redline, LC-20/ FP-60 /FP-3000, ARX, Specialty Formulations are all mail order items for me...VSOT is a special order or may discontinued. Quality filters are also special order, or I buy them when I'm in Denver.

So nearly every item I have requires mail order and shipping, or I have to wait until I'm in Denver , 100 miles away, and can buy sale items.

Stocking up, in my case, can be cheaper and more convenient.

So I'm not concerned that I bought too much.

But the point of this post was that I put my money where my mouth is..... as regards Mobil 1.

Mobil 1 lost me as a customer with the rumored/ or possible/ or likely Group III switcheroo, just like Castroil Syntec did years ago. [ GC being the exception ]

Mobil 1 has done nothing to convince me that they are still selling a true full synthetic [meaning Group IV/ V basestocks].

I won't buy any Mobil 1 oil at this time.

If Castrol Syntec and Mobil 1 want to sell me Group III for around $6.00....I'll buy Group III Pennzoil Platinum for $1.00/ qt and GC for $6.00/ qt, and Redline for $8.00/ qt

The other aspect is that oil in general seems to keep improving and new car and industry standards are requiring good to excellent oil formulation and performance.

So if oil is becoming more of a commodity; it may make sense to know which oils are best for one's need and stock up when they are on sale.
