MC vs ATV Oil

Probably not, there's plenty of manufacturers who simply make a "4T" or "2T" oil for bikes/scooters/ATVs/snowmobiles.

I suspect the ATV specific stuff is designed to sit around for a long time since ATVs might go a while without use.

I've run SRT in ATVs for years. Never a problem. I use it in my bikes too. Great oil, great price. What more could anyone want?

I'd say that the name on the bottle is for sales more than anything.

Yep..

Put a picture of a quad or bike on the bottle, double the price..

Yeah.... That stuff always takes the easy fish out of the pond.

I put 15w40 Rotella in yesterday...clutch feels better actually than the Valvoline MC I had in previously. Engine seems to run different, never noticed that with any other oil. Not better or worse, but I think it sounds different.

Wise choice. Any good quality HDEO will be more than adequate for your ATV.

I've owned ATVs going back as far as 1984 when Suzuki came out with the first Quadrunners (LT125 and LT185). Mine was a 185cc two wheel drive and saw many a hard mile under some nasty conditions from dust to water. Changed the oil once a year with HDEO, usually Rotella and that machine is still running today. I don't own it anymore but a friend of mine bought it about ten years ago and he's still running it.

I also had a 1987 LTF4WD that I also sold to a friend. It's still running strong.

Right now I'm running two Suzuki powered liquid cooled 500cc machines (one auto, one manual) that both have Rotella 15W40 in them. I used to do 500 mile oil changes but have decided to stretch it to 1000 miles because the oil still looked like new with only 500 miles on it.
