This is the car I gave my daughter.
Engine Miles: 185,300
Oil: 3,100 miles, MaxLife 5W30 put in before winter. An element 2ppm or less not reported.
Driving Conditions: Mostly Short trips of < 5 miles except for occasional 2 Hr. road trip.

Fe - 6
Mo - 11
Bo - 17
Si - 5
Na - 296
Ca - 1932
Mg - 39
Ph - 732
Z - 830
Vis - 8.8@100C
FP - 405F

Except for the shearing down, oil and engine combo seemed to do well. No real fuel dilution to speak of.

Dad put in his 10W30 full synthetic as a refill for the summer.

Dad's Full Synthetic 10W30 report from last Summer, at 3,340 miles. Same formula as this spring's fill:

Fe - 3
Mo - 80
Bo - 85
Si - 6
Na - 66
Ca - 2091
Mg - 65
Ph - 873
Z - 987
Vis - 11.37@100C
FP - 425F

Nice add pack on that 10w30 with extra Bo/Mo. Though I wasn't aware that Valvoline oils had any....Mo/Bo usually don't show up when sodium add packs are used. Or at least that was the case in previous years.

Where did all the sodium go considering it probably started off at 400 ppm? Maybe dilution with a previous oil? Maybe that can explain where the Bo/Mo came from.

Valvoline used to use Moly even in Nextgen Maxlife and Maxlife oils.

Good question.

She had her local Valvoline quick change shop do it because at the time she could not get back home for dad's brew.

I forgot to give her a sample bottle for VOA's.

Good to see the VML and the Dad Brew (DB) side by side. Nothing wrong with the MaxLife, but my pick is the DB.

Nice uoa! The Nissan 3.5 is well known to shear oil, so that is not surprising to see. Looks like "dads brew" held up great, but tthe Maxlife still did well.
Have you considered a 0w40 or 5w40? Thats what I'm running in the wifes 3.5 Nissan Quest. No uoa's on it yet though.
