Hi guys!
Seems I need your advice. Recently bought a Nissam Maxima 2005 SE and looks like it is worth to change transmission fluid. Nissan requires Matic-K ATF only, but I saw a number of aftermarket ATF which could be used instead (all are Matic-K compatible):
1. Amsoil ATF
2. RP Max ATF
3. Castrol Import MultiVehicle ATF.

Actually, I would prefer something synthetic, so first two items are preferable. What do you think? If you can recommend any other ATF which I missed, please do this.
All advises are appreciated.

Looks like Amalie universal ATF is not Matic-K certified. Specifications show just "Nissan" without any other notices. So I have doubts...

I believe the high end, most expensive Nissan fluid (Matic-J) is either partial synthetic or full synthetic and is backwards compatible with Matic-D and Matic-K. This fluid is used in the Infiniti G35 and Nissan 350Z. I'd look into it.

Another option you have is to go on Maxima.org and see what people are using for their 6th gen Maxima.

I am pretty close to choose Amsoil too. I used to use Mobil1 in my old Maxima, but now Matic-K compatible fluid is required.

Other then OEM, no ATF is 'certified'. Its simply suitable or recommended, and in some situations an improvement.

BG also has a full synth universal.

Matic-k is used by Nissan in their Aisin transmissions. If the univsl/mltivhcle ATF mentions T-IV, it'll work in place of matic-k.

Depending on mileage, consider multiple drain/refills or a flush. Don't forget to disconnect battery to allow 'learned' habits of the transmission to be relearned for the new fluid/driver combo.
