I've had good luck with the ebay valve covers (whole kit is $150) on the M52 and M54 engines. For the N series engines like my N51 you want to use the OEM cover because the PCV valve is integrated into the cover after 2006. Even then, you can get OEM covers for $500 on FCP Euro which comes with a lifetime warranty. You can find other sellers for cheaper. Personally I lucked out and had mine replaced by the dealer under the SULEV warranty.
I almost purchased one via AMAZON on an alleged Mahle cover, but I wasn't confident it was what they said it was and I still to buy TTY bolts, vent pipe and screws/seal for the valvetronic motor. In the end I went with the kit sold by FCP Euro.
