Filter had about 100 engines hours, seem fine.

Could you cut the filter element out and look for metal by doing the 'sunshine test'?

I picked up 6 Fram Ultra XG5 for about $4 each, and that went back on the engine. I will probably cut the element open in the next few days.

Finally a decent sized filter.
Always had good luck with Champion filters - even the cheap 3 buck autoparts box store stuff.

Anyone remember Lee Maxi Filter air filters decades ago?

Anyone know if those were champ labs too?

- Amsoil 15w50 went into the sump, and a Fram Ultra XG5 . M1-302 and Amsoil 15w50 was what I used. I have a stash of both M1 and Fram Ultra filters.
