LSPI testing Mb 229.52 / D1G3 / API SP/GF6

Which approval has most stringent LSPI mitigation testing?
API developed the Sequence IX engine test and it is a modified Ford I4 ecoboost. It's a simply pass/fail based on the number of "events".

The Mercedes test is mostly likely conducted on one of their own engines, for obvious reasons, and their requirements haven't been published.

Basically your answer is - No one knows.

Note: The ACEA adopted this API test and created a new category for it (A7/B7, C6). These categories also includes the TGDI chain wear test (Sequence X). Both Sequence IX and X are part of API SP. The Seq X test engine is also a modified Ford I4 ecoboost.

Have any ACEA A7 oils hit shelves yet?
Not that I'm aware of but formulators have updated their add-pack to API SP over the past year or so which means almost any oil sold with a Mercedes cert will also have API SP on the label. This makes the A7/B7 rather irrelevant.

One shouldn't assume API SP is "more stringent" either.
