Just purchased first boat. older, it is a 1978 17ft apollo with a Mercruiser 140. All i know is that it is a chevy 3.0 liter engine. Book list Quicksilver lubricants to use, so what else can i use.
1. Quicksilver Super duty lub: stern drive
2. Multipurpose lub: for swival pins, gimbal bearing
steering cable and Ujoint splines
3. Perfect Seal: propeller shaft
4. non-bleeding grease (high melting point): for
Distributor cam
5. Univeral joint lub; U JOINT CROSS BEARINGS
6. ANTI CORRISION GREASE: HINGE PINS

Any good sites where i can purchase the items i need?

Keep in mind the definition of a boat:

A Boat is a hole in the water into which you throw money.

The other addage I like is:

The two happiest days in the life of a boatowner is the day he buys it and the day he sells it.

You can use standard marine anti-corrosion wheel bearing lube for all of the applications except #1 and #4. Pull the prop and re-lube each year. Mercury dealers sell several type of lower unit lube for #1. The names have changed over the years. You should ask the dealer which one is appropriate for your particular model and year. You can get the distributor grease at just about any auto parts store such as NAPA. Just ask the counter guy for what you need.
