I'm in the market for a new watch and definitely not going to spend the money for a real Rolex but have considered buying a fake. I've found many, many sellers on the Internet priced from the low $100 to well over $500. Has any one purchased a knock off? How's the quality? Any recommendations on where to buy it?

I have one.. made in japan haha.. Was given to me by a friend...I dont wear it and its in really good shape.. I'll sell it to ya

A lot of the fakes are still automatic watches. I personally like Seiko automatics, but understand you'll have to wear it every day for it to stay wound and a lot of people wouldn't like this.

What about a battery operated Bulova Marine Star? Similar look from a good brand?

I also wouldn't mind a fake Rolex, but I'd only want it as a novelty and probably only drop 50 bucks on one. 500? Out of the question. You can buy so many really nice watches for half that.

Please don't buy a knock-off, its just wrong supporting criminals who rip off legitimate companies with this junk.
Consider a homage instead if you like the look of the sub or Daytona.
Invicta has the 8926 and Speedway for under $100

Seriously, what is the point of getting a knock-off Rolex? Who are you trying to impress?

For $100-$200 you can get a pretty nice original watch, not a Rolex of course.

+1

Plenty of stainless datejust models for around $1000.

This.

Don't support criminals selling fake stuff.

Buy an Invicta Pro Diver. Automatic watch, hefty, nice build quality, nearly an exact Omega. $69 on overstock frequently.

Buy a real Bulova for 1/10 the price of a Rolex, and get a better watch!

Not even close to a decent mid range watch never mind an entry level Rolex.

+1 again...

I, however, wear a cheap Timex analog watch my wife bought me two years ago for Christmas. If I get another two or three years out of it....I'll get another one.

All I need is a "timepiece".....not looking to make a fashion statement.

at the risk of unnecessarily repeating the above posts, why?

It's like those people who put Bentley badges on their Chrysler 300s.

"Life is [deleted] short..stop being ungratetful bout yo' [deleted] life, you gotta learn to be grateful. If God, done blessed you with a Chrysler 300, be happy. Stop walkin' around here talkin [nonsense], talking 'bout, [deleted], I got it 'cause it looks like a Bentley..No, [deleted]..it look like a Chrysler 300."

If $500 is the top limit of what you have budgeted for, get a very nice respected brand name watch for $500. No, it won't be a Rolex, but you aren't going to be impressing anybody with a "Faux-lex" anyway.

I'll be content with my 1960's Timex Marlin. It's been cleaned twice in 50 years and the crystal has been replaced once.

I don't need to try to impress anyone with an overpriced piece of wrist jewelry, nor do I feel the need to impress anyone with a fake piece of wrist jewelry. Quite frankly, when I see someone prancing around with a high priced watch on their wrist it looks like a poor attempt at flaunting a status symbol.

I would honestly feel silly wearing my off the rack suits with a $5000+ watch. Pretentious. Not to mention how concerned I would be about damaging the fool thing.

I was given a Fossil watch many years ago. It's been through about 4 batteries so I would guess 8-10 years. It keeps good time, it's not too blingy, Simple stainless band with a black face and silver numbers and hands. If something does happen to it, I got the better part of a decade out of it. I'll be disappointed but not heartbroken.
