going to swap out atf this weekend in the silverado with some maxlife.Im interested in finding a good additive to help prolong it.would it be even worth it since the maxlife already has a good add pack?

Truck has 155,000 mi on it and it shifts like new.Any suggestions??

If the automatic transmission fluid isn't good enough on it's own, why not purchase one that is rather than playing around with additives?

Just put in a quality fluid and be done with it.

I've never been an additive guy...every since I once heard someone say "all oil additives do is clog up your oil filter" (I know he was referring to motor oil, not tranny fluid, but it applies here too) I've felt it's better to just use the required fluid and change it frequently...

If you have a minor problem, an additive like Lube Gard can help things. If there is no problem, it won't help. If there is a major problem, nothing in a bottle will help.

He was probably referring to the lucas products.
