Then some PM, who spent years complaining about his palty salary can demonstrate his superior investment strategies by paying cash for a pig farm, costing 36 times his annual salary.

if you serve one term in Congress, you get that salary for the rest of your life. So if your elected once, your gravy for the rest of your life. sort of like a "political pension" Jimmy Carter is still collecting his Presidential salary.
