Well, I was told you weren't very good at it....I guess it's true.

I was just told by a female co-worker that I '... wasnt entering results data correctly ...' because I wasnt doing it the way SHE did it on the previous job. The data was entered to good effect; I was just using a "cheat" mechanism and she didnt like that

"You should have stopped at 'it's not my job' "

or

"Do I come tell you how to do your job?"

or

"Have a seat, please show me how to do it"

or

"My supervisor is _____ please tell them"

THere is often a direct connection between ignorance and certainty.

That happened to me a couple days ago. I was waiting to cross the street and some guy was surveying with spikes on concrete - I know, right. Naturally, I HAD to open my mouth: "You are going to be way off; trying moving it into the grass. You're doing it all wrong. Where is your backsight?"

I hate when people tell me that. I didn't earn a Detective shield for screwing up. It's amazing how people know how to do your job better because they watched an episode of Law and Order.

It gets so bad over in NYC that A 15 YEAR OLD pointed a gun at two cops. A real gun. You know, the one that kills people. So what did they do? They shot him. Because they didn't feel like dying. There are no time outs and no shooting him in the pinky toe or shooting the gun out of his hand. This is real life.

The kid died, the loaded gun was recovered. Tests show that he pulled the trigger but the gun jammed. And for one week, people protested in the street.

Why couldn't you shoot him in the leg? Why couldn't you tackle him? He's just a boy. Why didn't you disarm him? You can't shoot someone that didn't shoot at you yet.

What would you do if you saw this and you are a cop, or even an armed citizen:

I am the KING of "Officer, you can't do that, you must do this."
Thank you Mr. 6th grade drop-out, I will jot it down for next time.

RANT OFF.

Empty my magazine in the person. Doesn't matter how young or old they are. By pointing a gun in your face they make their intentions clear (you intend to use it). You need to respond and not second guess yourself.

Unless the person saying that was in a position to fire me I wouldn't waste even a millisecond of mental energy to acknowledge them.

To many idiots with guns - that includes the supposed 'responsible guys' too.
God is Dead! Kill your fellow man at the drop of a hat.
Everyone for Themselves!
We are witnessing the Fall of the Empire sooner than I thought ...
There is no "fellow man" - you hate your neighbor.

Now how long did that take for a thread hijack?

I've often wondered what I could do with a shirt, tie, hard hat, and clipboard. If I could drive all over, pull over at job sites, write something down, then yell at all the people that they're doing it wrong.

We used to do this in the Air Force.
It works.
