A bit of a specific question here, but I've tried contacting Ford and they haven't gotten back to me. I purchased a 2011 Ford Focus recently and the guy I bought it from was unaware of the whole capless fuel system for the car. As a result, he snapped off the outer bit of plastic around the fuel tank. My question is, does this need to be repaired? I've read that the Easy Fuel system supposedly prevents siphoning hoses, but with the outer bit off, I'm worried that it's now vulnerable to that especially since I have one of those models where the fuel door doesn't actually lock.
Is the outer plastic housing for Ford Easy Fuel system an essential part?
nothing to do with your question, but just because of the DIESEL sticker inside the Fuel door....I'm going to assume you're not in the USA?
