Overall I think it looks nice and the performance isn’t too bad, but at times it locks up when I’m trying to swipe. It still responds to taps, so I don’t think it’s a touchscreen malfunction. A few times I wanted to shut down and restart, but it wouldn’t respond trying to swipe to shut off. I could hit the x to cancel power down though. But I can also force restart, although I’m not sure if it’s a good idea.

A few other annoyances. It’s holding on to a fair bit of “system data” compared to iPadOS 18. Like 5 GB more so I have less room for offline videos. And there are no more video titles and apparently no way to change that.

I’m hoping that an update fixes these issues soon.

IMHO It's cleaned up the interface but added more taps instead. The swipe works OK for me.

Love it on my iPhone 14 Pro. Not a single complaint except tiny learning curve when I first got it. I love search being floating in more apps on screen instead of scrolling up to find in messages and other spots.

There is no hesitation I notice .

Interestingly I was ready to change my iPhone 14 Pro out in my usual 3 year swap of iPhones to iPhone 17 pro. 14 pro has $320 trade in. However this iOS I feel no need to upgrade as experience it quite good.

My iPhone 14 Pro is the only device I own personally. Occasionally borrow wife’s MacBook Air . I dislike iPads.

I got tired of the reduced available storage and did a restore to factory settings and then restore from a backup. I think part of the issue is that I had the base 64 GB, while the iPad Mini 7 has a base 128 GB.

iOS 26 has been solid on my iPhone, but every once in a while I can't left/right swipe on my iPad. If it gets to that point only way I've been able to restart has been to perform a force restart that only requires access to the buttons. Also - it's not as if it doesn't do something when I try to right/left swipe, but it's not responsive enough to be able to do the shutdown. I suspect that it's a software issue.
