If you can do a 5w20, why not just do a 0w20?

What Gary said.

0W will be even better flow at extreme colder temps, OR winters could probably benefit from the 0W, but a 5W20 would work fine as well

None,,you should be able to run it no problem, and get the benefits of slightly better start up protection.

How is 0w-20 going to give better startup protection?

A couple of winters ago, I picked up some Honda 0W20 at the stealership for my 2006 Odyssey. The dealer was adamant - "It's only for the Hybrid". Whatever.

Anyway, it cost around $5 a litre, which led me to believe that it wasn't 100% synthetic (synthetics sell for around $8 a litre or higher up here).

The parts guy had no idea where it came from, but thought it was Petro Canada (who make other weights of Honda oil). I called Petro Canada and was told that the 0W20 was made by Idemitsu - all other grades in Canada made by Petro Can. He agreed that for that price it probably wasn't a full synthetic, but only Idemitsu (and Honda I guess) would know for sure.

This is a bit off topic....

but why can't the make a Dino 0w20 or 0w30 oil ?

Yeah, that was kind of my thought too. I did not realize 0 was synth only.
