Is this the manual transmission tempo from another thread?

Mobil 1 ATF, dexron/mercon rated, would work okay. Probably only takes ~2 qts.

Hey there,

I have asked things about this Tempo in other
threads but, more on the lines of SERVICING.
IE: procedures and all. The Haynes manual
isn't very specific. They JUST ASSUME the tranny
is good for the life of the car regardless of
life. Go fig.

Any current Dexron III is compatible with regular Mercon, so conventional or synthetic versions according to your preference. Enjoy the flexibility while you can. I guarantee you won't have that freedom of choice next time around.

Slade,

When the automakers say "life" they really mean up to 100,000 miles.

An excellent price/performance fluid is Schaeffer's #204S blend with a viscosity index of 196, and is Dexron III/Mercon rated.

Hey there,

It's really ironic that you mention BLEND.
I was originally looking for the regular
Pennzoil MERCON/DEXRON III. I decided to go with
a synthetic blend to kinda clean it up
(Pennzoil that is). I will be putting this stuff
in after T-Giving since the auto-hobby shop
won't be open til then

. Oh well, gives me
a break any how.

BTW- I was just curious, does the API GL-X spec
only fall on the GEAR OIL such as 80x90 or is it
on things like regular MERCON/DEXRON products as
well ??

Thanks for the information.
