Although Hurricane Sally will get most the press, Hurricane Paulette hit the bulls eye if you will, and went over the entirety of the main island of Bermuda. How it can do that is totally amazing to me, like Bowling for Dollars. For those who are unfamiliar with Bermuda, it is a British Protectorate, Their society is First World and buildings are mostly strong enough to survive Hurricanes. Paulette hit 90 mph over the island. Good luck for those in the way of Sally. Stay safe. :)

Buildings are probably concrete, should be fine.
Sat next to a young female sous-chef on a flight on her way back to Calgary from Bermuda. She didn't have a lot of good things to say about her job experience on the island. Her employers basically got her labor for free, based on the room and board she had to pay.
Yes, young and learning about life for sure.
She didn't have enough money for food, bought her a meal on board.

Even the old buildings are made of quarried limestone reef and covered in plaster. Roofs are wooden beams covered with quarried slabs of limestone. The modern buildings are made of concrete. Here are some shots of a bus shelter in Bermuda. It is a good representation of the construction of the older buildings.

Keep a eye on Teddy.....

The longwave pattern could make it interesting for the East coast... Depending on the timing of upon frontal passages and high pressure rotating off the coast of Nova Scotia and or approaching cold front from the west... Could create a time where interests on the east coast need to be watching the western Atlantic closely...

It is forecast to be a major hurricane by early next week...

Seeing the rain start in Houston … TS Beta is widespread but hoping wind intensity stays down …
