I'm glad you like it. Give it some break in time, you'll be surprised how much better it gets. As for the bass you do have settings for that. Find a movie you like and turn off the voice enhancements and crank the volume up to 20 or so. It will surprise you depending on which "theater" setting it is on. The surround feature does give a bit wider soundstage but the volume must be up to notice it.
