So ive looked everywhere and multiple pds for my friends 04 1.9L Jetta that requires this specs and not even the rottela or duron 5w40 meet this. What can i find locally that will work with this specs?

Thanks

Don't bother with the 505.01 spec, use Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck or Delvac 1 ESP.

There are tons of excellent used oil analysis results on TDIclub using these oils.

Is there a Pep Boys where you live? I have seen Mobil ESP engine oils there.

Don't worry about the 505.1 spec too much. If you read the UOA section, you will find that Shell RTS 5w40 works very well in this engine.

Any Xw30 or Xw40 with HTHS 3.5+ (or that has ACEA A3/B3) is fine. Tons of oils meet that spec.

A few readily-available ones that come to mind are M1 0w40, Castrol Syntec 0w30, Valvoline Synpower 5w30 or 5w40. Or try something like M1 TDT, T6, Delo, etc.

For these higher cam/lifter pressure Pumpe-Duse TDIs (cam-actuated high-pressure injectors), what works with the older TDIs and sparkers may not work here.

Over the years we have seen the API Xw40s (mostly 5w40s) do very well, but M1 0w40, GC or ACEA-only oils remain untested. They might work fine, but I don't know if anyone has run them for 200K miles and inspected.
