I could understand supply / demand will increase increase the price on a 5-8 dollar item a few bucks, when prices triple I count that as price gouging. During hurricane season in Florida people have a mass buy on bottled water. You always see on the news that "price gouging will not be tolerated". A few retailers always make the news because a normally priced pack of bottles that cost less than 5 dollars are being sold for 20.00. The state slaps them with a fine to remind them.
